Dr. Esquivel has been successfully treating patients with a diverse range of chronic health conditions since 2002.
After self-studying functional medicine for several years while in practice, Dr. Esquivel opened San Jose Functional Medicine clinic in the South Bay in 2009.
In 2021, he expanded his Bay Area presence by opening a clinic in Oakland and renaming the practice Bay Area Functional Medicine, reflecting this expansion to the East Bay. He has been successfully treating patients for over 20 years and offers both online telemedicine appointments as well as in-person appointments at both clinic locations.
He has a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine (MSHNFM) and has extensive training in Functional Blood Chemistry, Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders, Functional Endocrinology and Immunology.
